Professional Background

As Senior Vice President, Todd Walike leads Artesient's business operations and is responsible for the development and management of the Firm's client base, consulting practices, and operations.  As a consultant, his bottom-line perspective for transformative solutions has contributed to his clients' success with projects ranging in scale from department-specific initiatives to enterprise-wide programs. A highly recognized leader, Mr. Walike brings a distinguished track record of more than 25 years of service to dozens of healthcare clients ranging from physician practices, hospitals and integrated delivery systems, to national health plans and disease management companies.

Previously, Mr. Walike was a Partner with Deloitte Consulting and served in several regional leadership roles.  He has led numerous engagements including strategic business & IT transformations, operational improvements and IT solution developments & implementations. Prior to Deloitte, he served as a Director at The Warner Group.  Mr. Walike has served as Acting CIO and as Director of Operations for several clients.  He has been a featured speaker to industry organizations, and earned his Master of Business Administration (Finance emphasis) from USC.

Notable Work Experience

  • Led the assessment effort for a regional health to identify cost of healthcare reductions for its post-service, pre-payment claim processes; current pre-payment reviews expected to realize over $35MM in annual savings. 
  • Led the effort by a regional health plan to develop the systems strategy for its self-insured business segments, identifying initiatives in excess of $30MM
  • Led multi-year initiative to evaluate, select, design and implement BPM (business process management) solution for a regional health plan.  Project included initial business case development and evaluation of packaged workflow (and imaging) applications and leading BPM solutions.  Business processes focused on “up-front” processes including sales, rating / quoting, underwriting and enrollment.  Initial administrative savings of approximately $20MM to be realized through greater straight-through processing, integration and automation / elimination of manual and paper-based activities
  • For a national disease management organization, assisted with designing, developing and implementing a healthcare analytics framework, initially for use by its health plan customers to assess and validate services provided and outcomes realized
  • For a specialty disease management organization, led the strategy, planning, and early stages of the design effort for a new care delivery model.  For chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients, drafted processes for patient activation and clinical programs for use by the nurse coordination teams to better manage treatment within CKD stages and to reduce ER visits and inpatient admissions
